A little about me...

My name is Casandra Ursua-Espinoza

I was raised in a very artistic Latino family, always being surrounded by some sort of art form. Art isn’t just some hobby, for me, art is a comfort, a home. I am the type of artist who does art to free myself from the stress and responsibilities of the real world and enter that mind space of pure freedom.  I find the possibilities of art to be endless and expressive, allowing you to explore and share your thoughts and feelings with others creatively. I was never one to dwell too hard on the traditional values of art because I feel restricted that way, I just let my impulses or intrusive thoughts take over when doing pieces sometimes because if not I wouldn’t allow myself to try new things and experiment. I love working with pencils & paints such as acrylics, gouache, etc. I’ve never had a preferred art style before, I always just draw inspiration from reference photos that I wonder upon on online sources and use them to develop my skills and hopefully discover a style of my own someday. I’m hoping that in the future I will be able to experiment with several art backgrounds. The main ones I would love to experience are being an art director, teacher, independent artist and graphic designer.
